I live in a van & haven’t had a shower for five years

LIVING a nomadic lifestyle sounds like the dream to some, while others couldn't think of anything worse than off-grid living.

But one woman who has lived in a van for five years isn't phased by her small living space or lack of a bathroom.

Sydney Ferbrache, took to her TikTok account @divineontheroad, to reveal she hasn't had a shower at home in five years.

The free spirit said: "I'm about to take my first hot shower in five years, well, in my own home."

Although Sydney hasn't had a shower in her van, she has been able to clean off occasionally while visiting gyms or truck stops.

But those days are over as she finally got a shower unit installed in her van - but it does come with a catch.

Sydney now has to shower outside as she showed in the video.

She added: "In the back, I have a temperature gauge and the actual shower hose."

To shower, Sydney puts a wooden mat down on the ground to stop her feet from getting dirty.

She then takes out her shower curtain and attaches it to the open back doors of the van, using magnets to keep them from moving in the wind.

Once done, she wraps her towel around herself and removes the shower curtain before heading inside.

She added: "The best part is that I'm already home so I can easily do my post-shower things without being in a busy locker room.

"This was so worth adding to my van."

The video has since gone viral with over four million views and over 630k likes.

While Sydney loved the new addition to her van, many were concerned it wasn't private enough.

One person wrote: "I feel like it has zero privacy."

"Lol yeah I mean I’m in the literal middle of nowhere so I’m not too worried," replied Sydney.

Another commented: "JUST GET AN APARTMENT FOR HALF THE PRICE."

"What about the cracks by the door hinges? Or do you always wear something," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "I would be scared that someone just opens the curtain."

"This is so crazy lmfao," claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: "I could never live like thissss."
